Tip #1G: Expect a Greater Reward!

This is the final tip in defining what makes a man. Every 15th day of the month is special to me. Why? I'm glad you asked. It's PAY DAY! Yep, I get paid once per month on the 15th of every month. It's awesome because all of the work I put into the previous month is exchanged for a nice check. But how I work determines how I get paid. If I decide that I don't want to work full days or take off here and there, you better believe my check will reflect it. The same is true with life. I believe that if you live life according to God's principles & promises, there is an ultimate reward. Some people call it heaven or eternal life. I definitely believe that. But most people find it hard to relate heaven and eternal life to the practical world in which we live. So, in addition to having an ultimate reward (heaven/eternal life), I believe we have several earthly rewards. When we put God first in our lives, He causes us to prosper in ways that we can never imagine. I have witnessed this too many times to count in my personal life. I don't want to make this long and drawn out so I'll say this: how you "work" and what you do today determines how you'll get paid on "pay day". No work = no pay. A real man understands this and will work to fulfill his life's mission. Therefore, he expects a greater reward. To recap the definition of manhood, a man: 1. accepts responsibility, 2. leads with courage, 3. is not passive, 4. brings life wherever he goes, 5. makes everyone feel safe when he’s around, 6. does what’s right, no matter the cost AND, 7. expects a greater reward, God’s reward.
