Tip #15: Slow & Steady Wins the Race.

If you put a Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 up against a Toyota Prius, we all know that the Aventador will spank the Prius left and right, in the short run. The Lamborghini is designed for performance. It can accelerate with lightning-fast speeds and handle the corners with so much G-force, you just might break a rib. It also looks more aggressive and to the average sports car enthusiast, the Aventador would be the choice (assuming both were free of charge). The Aventador is just that awesome! On the other hand, the Prius isn't designed for performance. It is designed for traveling long distances with reasonable comfort. It can travel over 50 miles on a gallon of gas in the city! It has a functional back seat with room to carry stuff in the trunk. It's also better for the environment and costs a lot less than the Aventador. I consider the Aventador and the Prius the modern day Aesop's Fable The Tortoise and the Hare. Click the 8 min. YouTube video below (you may want to skip to about :25):

The Aventador is like the Hare. It's designed to show off. It looks good, it can perform, and it sounds amazing. The Prius is the tortoise in this analogy (it even looks like a tortoise). It's slower, quieter, and more boring. But, I guarantee if the Aventador and the Prius were in a side-by-side race to see which car can go the farthest distance (without stopping to refuel), the Prius would definitely win. What is the point in this tip? Well it's simple. Ecclesiastes 9:11 says "that the race is not given to the swift, nor the battle to the strong...". So, run the race of life with consistency no matter who or what seems to be moving at a faster pace. Keep up your endurance and steady pace and in the end, you will definitely win.
