Tip #25: Be Careful What You Let Impress You!

I had an opportunity to speak to a group of teens a few years ago at my dad's church (my dad is a pastor-shocker, right?). As I spoke to the group of teens, I handed everyone a small can of Play Doh and gave them an opportunity to create anything they desired. Some of their creations were works of art while others were globs of mess. But each person had their chance at creating something out of the Play Doh. More importantly, I had a chance to share with these teens about the way they are designed. As a teen, you're going through a very impressionable stage. You're still trying to figure out who you are, who you want to be, your style, who your friends are, who you look up to, along with many other things. The music you listen to, the people you hang out with, the shows you watch on TV, the people you model your life after, and other things you consider important all have a hand in molding and shaping your life. What you're wow'ed about has an impression on who you are and who you will become. All I'm simply saying is: BE CAREFUL IN WHICH HANDS YOU PUT YOUR LIFE! You want to end up the way God created you and not a creation of someone or something else.
